any chance of a closeup of his face, it looks awsome but difficult to make it out

Haha that's the most ominous scarecrow I've ever seen. In being mostly a silhouette, it gains a lot of eeriness, awesome face, awesome birds, and that sinister sky only makes everything more disturbing. Brilliant! =D

I'm not going to lie, if I came across this in a cornfield, I'd have a flippin' heart-attack. This would scare the crap out of me, because it's not a goofy looking one that you see in cartoons or in small southern farming towns...no, this is the type of scarecrow you'd see in a haunted, northern farming community or a cornfield where someone died gruesomely.

LOL your a funny one. Yeah i'd be very worried for my well being as well if i had this scarecrow stalking me through a cornfield. That demon scarecrow from jeepers creepers still freaks me out. Theres some cursed about this scarecrow. I like how the crows arent even scared of it but somehow everyone else is. Something very dark and sinster is at play here. Hmmmmmm kinda makes you wonder. Thanks for the comment mate :P

Not a problem. God, it inspires me to start writing some sort of horror short story. Like some kid gets lost in a small town and ends up standing in front of this thing, which is possessed by the spirit of some demon, which possesses the boy, which causes the boy to go on some killing spree using the crows as weapons and manifestations of the demon's power....wait, what? Anyway, yeah, it's an awesome picture. Keep up the good work.

It's not so much the Scarecrow that's amazing (which it is, don't get me wrong), it's more the general atmosphere of the picture. Like, to me, I see that scarecrow and I see something evil locked away in it. Something that's not human and that only wants to destroy all that it sees. To other's, it might not be what I see, but they see something dark, mysterious...sinister about this scarecrow. Something is off, but they don't fully understand what it is about it that is off. They feel drawn to it, but at the same time they feel repulsed by it. It's not one of the dopey-looking scarecrows that you see around Thanksgiving. It's more like the sinister representation of All Hallows Eve that you see, feel and sense from this one.

Myeah i like the way you put it thats the way i see it as well. But its just interesting as to how many people like it though. I wasnt expecting such a crazy reaction of a simple scarecrow picture. It just intrigues me LOL.

The mood of the piece is incredible. The two tones used really emphasize what you are supposed to feel; that kind of death-like aura of the flat earth tones brings out that obscure feeling of uneasiness, slight yet certain fear, and the sketchy look to the rags, grass, and the face itself really pushes the whole horror theme home.

An amazing piece. I stand in awe.

LOL it was part of a triptych but everyone else forgot the other two works that go along with this. LOL they seem to love it. I just felt that this image/series didnt need much colour and i there was something about a kinda of yellowy sepia tone/filter that really worked well with this. Im glad you really liek this work. Thanks heaps for the comment.
